Sea Urchin Roe or Uni used in sushi is one of my favorite foods of all time. However, it is a really love or really hate thing. Much like Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
Alice in 3D? I loved it loved it loved it! Tim Burton was able to raise the bar much higher here for a very particular “twist” he put in the story. I’ll try not to spoil it I’ll take this part out since this is a spoiler you have been warned: his Alice is not a remake but as cleverly revealed in the storyline - a sequel. so you guys get to enjoy the movie even after reading this.
For once as well, Johnny Depp didn’t take “too much” of the spotlight this time as he usually does - as the crowning gem of the movie in my opinion unquestioningly belongs to Helena Bonham Carter - playing the Red Queen, who we last saw as Depp’s leading lady in Sweeney Todd.
As for the 3D part of it, well I’d say paying the almost double fee over the regular one is well worth the cost. Oh, and don’t forget to watch the trailers - believe it or not they are in 3D as well.
Easily the best movie I’ve seen so far this year. (Disclaimer: I missed Avatar)
